I've seen DSO 3 times. One free form set list, one was 11/25/73 and one was 4/14/88 show. All at the Showbox in SEA, where they will be playing on 420.

The first two with JK and the '88 show with Stu Allen.

BTW way back when I saw the Zen Tricksters at the Tractor Tavern in SEA and they were WAY better. They had It, not it or IT, but It.

All fun sets. Fun to see the kids dancing and partying to the greatest music ever written. The smell of patchuli in the air. They are talented players, playing great music - it as opposed to IT.

The folks trying to re-live (or live the first time) the travelling GD circus are barking up the wrong piece of blotter.

I found the actual jamming to be superior when they play an original set, then they just play the hell out of the songs. Its not like they play better when they put on a '77 show as compared to an '86 show...its just set list variation after all. Not like they get a raging 30 year old Jerry for those '73 mock-ups.

Overheard at a DSO show at the NORVA with whirlwind a few years back:

"These guys aren't as good as the Grateful Dead.....they don't make as many mistakes."

It made sense......
